IP Security Implementation Problems
The IP Security functionality offered in the @Chip-RTOS is still under development. Currently there are the following known issues concerning the implementation.
General
- The @Chip-RTOS IP Security has not been tested with IPv6.
- The @Chip-RTOS IP Security will not operate in ESP tunnel
mode with
NAT devices between
the IPC@CHIP® computer and Microsoft Windows PC, for versions
of Windows XP that use the "draft 2 NAT-IKE" (true of all Windows XP
versions observed at time of this writing, year 2007).
However, the ESP transport mode does work with these "draft 2"
implementations.
